TARGETED GROWTH SECTORS

Automotive/Electric Vehicles: Kentucky has established itself as a leader in the emerging EV sector with three battery production facilities and a growing supplier base, including $11.7 billion in announced projects expected to create over 10,280 full-time jobs.


Metals: Kentucky offers a wealth of metal-related facilities, including aluminum, copper, and steel. The approximately 250 facilities provide materials and fabrication services for hundreds of products around the globe.


Food and Beverage: Kentucky’s diverse food and beverage sector includes the state’s signature bourbon industry, which alone generates 23,000 jobs statewide. The food and beverage industry as a whole employs more than 58,000 Kentuckians.

Kentucky Product Development Initiative

In 2022, Governor Andy Beshear rolled out the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, which made $100 million in state funding available to support potential upgrades to sites and buildings statewide. In 2024, another $70 million was announced to ensure companies have access to quality sites.
