Today, the Mattoon, Illinois-based company Rural King, ‘America’s Farm and Home Store’, announced plans to expand operations in southern Ohio. This will boost distribution capacity and RK Tractor manufacturing operations in Pike County, as well as make southern Ohio the home to Rural King’s North American Import Facility.
JobsOhio and OhioSE collaborated with Rural King on the expansion in Waverly, providing an $800K Revitalization Grant. The JobsOhio Revitalization Program Loan and Grant Fund is designed to support the acceleration of redeveloping sites in Ohio. The family-owned business was awarded a Job Creation Tax Credit by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority and will invest more than $33 million to purchase and renovate a 1 million-square-foot warehouse near Waverly in Zahn’s Corner Industrial Park.
Blake Pierce, Rural King Director of Real Estate, said “The solid workforce and work ethic of Pike County employees has contributed greatly to our success and we feel will do so for this expansion, as well.”
