“Georgia has become a magnet for international companies who are looking to expand their reach in North America,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) Commissioner Pat Wilson. “We are excited that Kamstrup has chosen Georgia – this announcement puts a spotlight on the continued strong relationship between Georgia and Denmark.”

Headquartered in Skanderborg, Denmark, Kamstrup manufacturers high-tech solutions provider of water, district heat and electricity intelligent metering solutions for commercial and residential use. The company currently employs more than 1,200 people worldwide. The new location in Roswell will serve as the company’s North American headquarters.

“By the rapidly growing sales in USA and need for a production plant in North America Atlanta and Fulton County was the natural choice,” said Kamstrup CEO Lars Bo Kristensen. “We see an increasing need and interest for intelligent and accurate water metering solutions for the water utilities. But also the individual consumer has an increased focus on the usage, as the cost for clean water increases year by year.”

GDEcD Director of International Investment, Nico Wijnberg, represented the Global Commerce division in partnership with the Danish Trade Commission in Atlanta, Roswell Inc., Metro Atlanta Chamber and Georgia Power.

“Kamstrup is another great example on how well differentiated and advanced Danish technology faces a huge potential in the USA. Their new production facility in Georgia will form the perfect foundation for utilizing this moving forward,” said Carsten Rosendahl, Danish Trade Commissioner.

“Kamstrup is a welcome addition to our area’s business ecosystem, because they not only embrace their Danish ties, but also water conservation and smart energy solutions.” said Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “They also represent how our region is attracting and supporting high-tech industries on a global scale.”

“We are proud to have Kamstrup locate its North American headquarters here in Roswell,” said Steve Stroud, executive director of Roswell Inc, the city’s economic development organization. “This project is a great example of the impact strong collaboration by state, regional and local economic development agencies has in landing quality, innovative companies in our region. We are thrilled to have Kamstrup make its home in our city.”
