BlackRidge Technology, a cyber-security company from Santa Clara, CA has announced the relocation of its headquarters and operations to Reno, NV. The company plans to create a new cyber security solutions lab. The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) and Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA) jointly assisted BlackRidge in the relocation and its application for state incentives.

“The Nevada business friendly tax structure and the availability of incentives made it an easy business decision to expand our presence in the state and relocate our headquarters to Reno,” said Bob Graham, CEO of BlackRidge Technology. “We are pleased with the level of talented local resources that are available to support the growth of our operations and the creation of a new cyber security solutions lab.”

BlackRidge Technology cloaks and protects enterprise networks and cloud resources from unidentified and unauthorized users. Their patented Transport Access Control (TAC) technology protects against unidentified and unauthorized users and devices. TAC is a new way to guard against advanced and unknown threats, versus protecting against threats, one vulnerability at a time. This technology results in immediate and tangible reduction in the malicious unwanted traffic that poses the bulk of cyber threats today.

The company was founded in 2010 and recently leased space in the South Meadows area of Reno where construction on the new cyber lab has commenced and is scheduled to be operational in the second quarter of 2015.

“Another technology company and in the cyber security space, a growing sector, how exciting,” said, Mike Kazmierski, CEO of EDAWN. “These small, high growth companies, like BlackRidge Technology, are precisely the kind of employers we need to add to our region as we work to diversify our economy,” he said. “A special thanks to our partner NNDA as we worked together to assist BlackRidge Technology in its relocation decision.”

Rob Hooper, Executive Director of NNDA said, “BlackRidge Technology’s decision to come to Northern Nevada is an affirmation of our strategy to open up the Sierra Region as a technology destination. Tech companies are recognizing that Northern Nevada has what it takes to get the job done. NNDA is delighted by the successful collaboration with EDAWN on this project and others, once again showing the north is united. By working together we will continue to see the successes of our efforts.

NNDA is the recognized Economic Development Authority for the Sierra Region of Nevada which is comprised of Carson City, Churchill County, Douglas County, Storey County and Lyon County. The agency is a non-profit organization funded by the State, the counties and cities within the region and through “investor partners” which is the business community of the region.
