Potato Chip Company Growing In Pennsylvania

Dieffenbach's Potato Chips Inc. plans create up to 100 new jobs at its new 188,000-square-foot potato chip manufacturing facility and warehouse in Bethel Township, PA.

Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips Inc. plans to build a new 188,000-square-foot potato chip manufacturing facility and warehouse in Bethel Township, PA. The Womelsdorf, PA-based company could add up to 100 new jobs once the facility is fully operational.

“We are excited about the growth we’ve seen over the past several years, and thus have been taking the steps to allow for continued growth to service our customers, and provide additional opportunities for our employees to grow,” said Mike Marlowe, Dieffenbach’s chief operating officer.

The first phase of the project includes moving the company’s logistics operations from a leased site to the new Bethel Township location, which will serve as the hub for staging domestic and international shipments, as well as direct store delivery operations, according to Marlowe. The second phase will allow for up to 20 new manufacturing lines, which would employ more than 100 additional people across four shifts.

Dieffenbach’s has experienced continued growth nationally and internationally. It expanded its current plant in 2012 and again last year. Continued growth has created the need for the new facility. The new site will allow Dieffenbach’s to double its current capacity when phase one is complete, and add an additional 100 percent once the second phase is finished.

Known for its kettle chips and its One Potato Two Potato brand, in December Dieffenbach’s launched Uglies kettle chips made from potatoes that would normally be rejected for minor imperfections or for their high sugar content. The company also makes more than 100 unique products for the private label manufacturing industry across the U.S. and Europe.
