National IT infrastructure and cloud services provider Peak 10, Inc. has opened its third data center facility in Raleigh, NC. The expansion is a response to demand for Peak 10’s managed services and data center solutions to support the Research Triangle region’s continued growth as a technology hub.
Peak 10’s new Raleigh facility is contiguous to its two existing data centers and adds approximately 30,000 square feet to the company’s local presence. The new data center includes office space and a state-of-the-art Technical Assistance Center (TAC) designed for optimal customer support. Like all of Peak 10’s data centers, its newest facility is compliant with numerous regulatory requirements and industry standards, including HIPAA, PCI DSS and ISO 27001.
“Technological innovation is a hot topic and at the top of trends this year is the increasing integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in everything from robots to watches,” explains Robby Gauci, vice president and general manager for Peak 10’s Raleigh operations “This increase in the number of connected ‘things’ means a larger need from our customers for data storage, security and compliance for their applications. The opening of Peak 10’s new Raleigh data center comes at an opportune time for enterprises in all industries in the region who need scalable, secure solutions for their data storage and IT management.”
Gauci noted that Peak 10 had already signed on several new customers while the facility was under construction, and is currently installing their IT infrastructure and equipment.
Peak 10 serves hundreds of customers in the Research Triangle market area including Red Hat, Global Knowledge, Bob Barker Company, Talari Networks and Carolinas IT. The new Peak 10 Raleigh facility—located off McCrimmon Parkway in the heart of Raleigh’s tech corridor—will allow Peak 10 to serve hundreds more businesses.
“We will continue to invest in our Raleigh operations to further support our customers’ businesses and help fuel the local business economy,” added Gauci.
Peak 10’s Raleigh 3 facility contains 17,000 square feet of raised-floor data center space, a dedicated disaster recovery work area for customers and diverse redundant power feeds, and will provide 24/7/365 customer support—all aimed at helping businesses increase agility, lower costs, improve performance and focus their internal IT resources on core competencies. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, Peak 10 operates 27 data centers in key U.S. markets and serves a diverse range of customers in the U.S. and abroad.
