Since Hanwha Advanced Materials America LLC established its operations in Opelika in 2005, the company has continually invested in new equipment and building improvements and has far exceeded its initial commitment of 150 jobs. The addition of the new 100 jobs will bring Hanwha’s employment level to more than 400.

“It is truly an honor when existing industries continue to grow and invest in our community. We are glad to assist Hanwha in their continued success,” said Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller.

Hanwha Advanced Materials America LLC specializes in high quality Lightweight Composite Materials such as Stronglite, Superlite, Bufflite, Xtralite, and Intermlite. The newly expanded facility will increase the company’s production capacity as well add more diversity to its product line. This expansion will also enhance the company’s ability to continue delivering the highest quality automotive parts in the industry.

“Alabama’s dynamic auto industry continues to grow through expansion projects like the one at Hanwha that will add 100 jobs in Opelika,” said Governor Kay Ivey. “This is more proof that Alabama offers the kind of business environment that can foster significant job growth in communities across the state, which aligns with the priorities of my administration.”
