Bandwidth To Invest More Than $100M In North Carolina Expansion

The software company will expand its presence in Raleigh, NC by building a new corporate headquarters and adding more than 1,000 jobs.

Bandwidth Inc. will invest more than $100 million in a major expansion of its Raleigh, NC operations. As part of the project, Bandwidth will designate Raleigh as its corporate headquarters and will add 1,165 jobs in Wake County.

“As an essential Nationwide service provider of 911, voice calls and text messages headquartered here in North Carolina, we are proud to have kept up with the unprecedented levels of demand for communications services during this challenging time,” said David Morken, founder & CEO of Bandwidth. “We’re enabling a more connected world at a time when people everywhere need it most. Our mission is critical, and we remain steadfast in continuing to execute on that mission for the people of North Carolina and all Americans.

Bandwidth is a software company focused on communications and has called Raleigh home for the past 19 years. Currently located on North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus, Bandwidth has more than 750 employees between its Raleigh, Denver, and Rochester offices. The company completed an initial public offering (IPO) in 2017 and has played a critical role in the development of communications for global companies such as Google, Microsoft, Zoom, and others.

Bandwidth will look to grow its existing workforce by adding positions in research and development, sales and marketing, operations, and administration. New positions will offer wages that average $96,832 in annual total compensation.

“Though the current backdrop is highly challenging for everyone, the Commerce Department is proud to continue carrying out its mission – and that includes helping companies execute strategic growth plans that involve North Carolina,” said North Carolina Commerce Secretary Anthony M. Copeland. “Today’s announcement by Bandwidth showcases the resiliency and reliability of our state and its renowned economic assets – especially our tech-savvy workforce.”
