Verisure To Create 1,000 Jobs In North East England

Europe’s largest domestic alarm provider will invest nearly $4M in a 104,000-square-foot facility at the Quorum Business Park, North Tyneside.

Verisure UK Services Limited will locate new operations in the Quorum Business Park, North Tyneside, with a commitment to create 1,000 jobs. The company has signed an 11-year lease at the 104,000-square-foot The NEON Building, which is currently being adapted to meet its needs.

Verisure, Europe’s largest domestic alarm provider with more than 3.3 million customers in 17 countries, expects to hire 100 people this year. The company is investing nearly $4 million (£3 million) in the new operations. It has an existing operations facility in Brentford, and staff have been given the opportunity to relocate. However, the vast majority of jobs will be offered to people in the North East and will be in customer service, technical support, field operations, training, IT, telesales, HR and finance.

“We have chosen North Tyneside as the ideal location for our new site after deep analysis of more than 15 of the UK’s larger urban areas,” said Verisure’s managing director, Gabino Sanchez. “It stood out for many reasons including the friendliness of the people, the incredible quality of life and the high standard of education.

“We have been tremendously encouraged by the expert guidance, support and enthusiasm of Invest North East England, who we were first introduced to in 2018 and greatly assisted with information and the coordination of a number of insightful visits to the region,” Sanchez added. “Likewise, North Tyneside Council and the North of Tyne Combined Authority were a hugely positive influence on us and convinced us that North Tyneside was the perfect location from which Verisure can meet its very ambitious growth targets.”

“It has been an absolute pleasure supporting Verisure with its expansion project,” commented Guy Currey, Director Invest North East England. “From our initial conversation back in 2018, we have worked very closely with the team to convince them that the North East has everything they need in place to be successful. We faced stiff competition from other locations in the UK and we’re delighted Verisure has committed to growing here and creating up to 1,000 jobs in our fantastic region.”

The NEON Building is currently under refurbishment by OKTRA as general contractor. The facility features open floor plans that encourage team work and cohesion, a state-of-the-art fit-out, a new alarm receiving center from which to manage live incidents occurring within a home, several outdoor spaces, on site nursery and fitness centre.

“We are very excited to welcome Verisure to Quorum Park and believe it is the ideal environment for its business to thrive in the North East,” said Brian Rabinowitz, director of Shelborn Asset Management, which acquired Quorum Park in 2019. “Quorum has the infrastructure, retail and leisure amenities as well as the availability of modern open plan office accommodation to accommodate dynamic organisations such as Verisure and we wish them every success.”
