Economic development organizations and local businesses have joined forces to assist healthcare workers on the front lines by creating new supply chains for critical medical equipment, recruiting area businesses to manufacture PPE, ventilators and other essentials. EDOs large and small have thrown a lifeline to small businesses, making themselves the point of contact to help facilitate the delivery of billions in federal relief money, as well as a plethora of new state, county and metro grant and loan programs for businesses.
