A northeast location within a day’s drive of 40% of the U.S. population, cold storage capacity, and a host of transportation options make Vineland, NJ a winning logistics location. Vineland is located along New Jersey Route 55 with a direct connection to the New Jersey Turnpike, and Interstates 95 and 295, linking the city to major markets along the east coast and beyond.

These roadways also provide access to port facilities along the Delaware River where cargo volume is steadily increasing. A significant portion makes its way to Vineland, where a dozen 3PL providers offer more than 40 million cubic feet of cold storage and fleets of dry and refrigerated trailers. And with the city’s ability to provide municipal electric rates considerably lower than surrounding providers, more is on the way.

“Exporters in countries around the world need to know their perishable products will be handled in a clean, secure facility with state-of-the-art temperature control, and re-packed properly,” said Mayor Anthony Fanucci. “Vineland cold storage operations offer the quality warehousing and value-added services these customers are looking for.”

To meet the demand, existing Vineland facilities are expanding. First Choice Freezer and M&O Freezer have already added 235,000 square feet, with another 148,000 under construction. KRES Cold Storage and Davy Cold Storage are also adding square footage.

Work is also underway for a new two-phase 336,000-square-foot freezer and cooler facility, which will house a leading international cold storage company. According to project developer J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc., Vineland’s strong economic base, tax abatement programs, industry mix, and location to major markets were all factors in choosing the site.
