Value-Added Agriculture: Saskatchewan offers 40% of Canada’s farmland and is the largest producer of peas, lentils, canola, oats, and flax. The province offers world-class R&D and supply chain certainty for processors.
Manufacturing: Saskatchewan manufacturers pioneer cutting-edge technology, from continuous mining equipment, autonomous farm tools, unmanned aerial vehicles, and deep-space antenna systems. The manufacturing workforce is one of Canada’s most productive, growing rapidly to support its thriving economy.
Mining: Saskatchewan ranks third globally for mining investment attractiveness and is a rare earth elements hub, home to 27 of Canada’s 34 critical minerals vital for sustainability and security.
TOP PROJECTS (CAPITAL INVESTMENT)
BHP announced stage two of the Jansen potash project, representing a C$6.4 billion investment and 300+ jobs. Foran Mining Corporation approved construction of the McIlvenna Bay copper and zinc mine, representing US$604 million in additional investment. Cardinal Energy will develop a thermal project in Redford (C$ 155 million investment). And, North American Helium added two helium purification facilities to its operations in the province, bringing C$500 million total investment in nine facilities there.
