Healer Health, a healthcare company specializing in the manufacture of diabetic shoes and orthopedic anatomical supports, is relocating the operations of Kentucky-based Hylan Shoe Company to Zionsville, IN, creating up to 25 new Indiana jobs by 2021.

The company, which acquired Hylan Shoe Company in March 2016, will invest $635,000 to open a distribution center in the Mayflower Business Park, relocating from a facility in Owensboro, KY. As the manufacturer of I-Runner Diabetic Comfort Shoes, Healer Health plans to launch operations at its new Indiana facility in January and will ship I-Runner shoes to customers across the country. Healer Health plans to begin hiring in December for marketing, warehousing and distribution positions.
“When searching for a place to grow Healer Health, I was looking for a business climate just like we have here in Indiana — home to low taxes, limited regulations and a loyal, dedicated workforce,” said Todd Katz, chief executive officer of Healer Health. “Zionsville is a perfect location to build a new business.”
Healer Health, through its I-Runner brand, distributes shoes for individuals with diabetes to suppliers including pharmacies, hospitals, podiatrists and home health offices across the nation. With 33 million Americans diagnosed with diabetes across the U.S., diabetes care is the fastest-growing managed segment of healthcare in the nation. Diabetic shoes, also known as therapeutic shoes, can help prevent skin-related health problems for people with diabetes, including ulcers and wounds, which helps reduce the need for amputations.
“The town of Zionsville is committed to helping accelerate economic growth in Zionsville by supporting innovative start-ups like Healer Health,” said Zionsville Mayor Tim Haak. “Healer Health has an impressive product and we are excited for their next phase of growth and expansion in Zionsville.”
The IEDC offered Healer Health LLC up to $185,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $40,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, so until employees are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The town of Zionsville approved additional incentives at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation.
Small businesses like Healer Health employ more than 1.2 million workers across the state and helped Indiana add 168,000 new jobs since 2013. Supported by Indiana’s strong entrepreneurial environment, 72,000 new startups have launched in Indiana since 2011.
