Quidel Corporation Expanding In Ireland

The California-based diagnostic testing solutions company will establish a new Business Service Centre in Galway, creating 75 jobs over five years.

Quidel Corporation will establish a Business Service Centre in Galway, Ireland to support its expanding international business, resulting in the creation of 75 jobs over five years. The California-based company, which develops, manufactures and markets of rapid diagnostic testing solutions, employs approximately 1,200 people in operations in North America, Europe, Latin America, Japan, and other parts of Asia.

“There are many very talented people here, and Quidel is proud to partner with Martin Shanahan and IDA Ireland to bring jobs to Galway,” said Douglas Bryant, Quidel Corporation’s President and CEO. “Our company has recently doubled in size, and we believe that Galway can serve as a linchpin for our growing international presence.”

Quidel offers diagnostic testing solutions in four product categories; Immunoassays, Molecular Assays, Virology and Specialty Products. Products are sold directly to end users and distributors for professional use in physicians’ offices, hospitals, clinical laboratories, reference laboratories, leading universities, retail clinics, pharmacies and wellness screening centers.

The project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.
