Empire State Development (ESD) is the economic development arm for New York State. The Joplin Regional Partnership is a Regional Economic Development organization that consists of Jasper, Newton, and Barton Counties in Southwest Missouri, Cherokee, Crawford, and Labette Counties in Southeast Kansas, and Ottawa County in Northeast Oklahoma. It includes the cities of Carthage, Carl Junction, Duenweg, Lamar, Joplin, Neosho, & Webb City in Southwest Missouri, Baxter Springs, Columbus, Galena, Pittsburg in Southeast Kansas, and Miami, Oklahoma. Other members of the Partnership are The Empire District Electric Company, The Harry S Truman Coordinating Council, and The Workforce Investment Board of Southwest Missouri.

Ak-Chin Indian Community (Arizona)
From its early days of poverty, the small tribe of the Ak-Chin Indian Community has grown to become the number one economic generator in Pinal County, Arizona, stimulating nearly $437 million in total economic impact annually. Ak-Chin has an enrollment of over 770 tribal members.
