Lineage Logistics, LLC, a temperature controlled warehousing and logistics company, will expand two existing facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area and has acquired two new buildings, one in Phoenix, AZ and one in Bethlehem, PA. The expansions and acquired buildings will add a total of 21 million cubic feet of refrigerated warehousing space to Lineage’s growing nationwide facility network and represent the next step in the company’s warehouse automation strategy.
Lineage expects to break ground at its cold storage distribution center in Fort Worth, TX in the coming months, with plans to open the expansion in October. The facility will increase its total capacity to 23.9 million cubic feet with over 54,000 pallet positions to house frozen and refrigerated product.
The expansion of Lineage’s Sunnyvale, TX facility will be a rack-supported, fully automated building featuring a 75-foot-plus clear height and the latest in automated technology. The automated addition will be designed to provide over 7 million cubic feet of frozen and refrigerated space, with more than 19,000 pallet positions to support fast-moving distribution product. The expansion’s seamless integration with the existing conventional warehouse will provide customers with ultimate flexibility in supply chain solutions.
“Our customers need state-of-the art cold storage facilities to ensure their product is stored in the safest and most efficient manner possible,” said Greg Lehmkuhl, President and CEO of Lineage Logistics. “The cutting-edge technology we plan to deploy in our Sunnyvale expansion is consistent with our organization’s bold and innovative spirit, and we look forward to investing in additional expansions and automation across our nationwide network to ensure we can continue to support our customers’ supply chain initiatives.”
The Dallas-Fort Worth expansion projects come on the heels of Lineage’s acquisition of two cold storage distribution centers in other key markets in the U.S., including a 200,000-square-foot building in Phoenix, AZ as well as a 265,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Bethlehem, PA near Lineage’s Allentown distribution center.
“Our acquisitions in Phoenix and Bethlehem are indicative of Lineage’s commitment to growing into the core markets our customers desire to further optimize their supply chains,” said Tim Smith, Lineage’s EVP of Sales & Business Development. “We are thrilled to continue to expand our facility footprint and provide customers with the industry’s latest, most innovative logistics solutions.”
