Hunt Midwest Enterprises, Inc. and Unity Hunt, Inc., the parent company for the Lamar Hunt family’s holdings, announced today the launch of Hunt Southwest Real Estate Development, LLC, a Dallas-based development and investment company targeting commercial real estate development throughout Texas.
Industry veteran Preston Herold will lead the company as vice president of Hunt Southwest. Herold has extensive experience in real estate development, acquisitions and leasing.
Hunt Southwest is a joint venture between Hunt Midwest and Unity Hunt. It is the second real estate development enterprise founded by the Lamar Hunt family, following the success of Hunt Midwest, which was established in 1985.
Herold said he is eager to grow Hunt Southwest into an active player in Texas. “The development and investment climate is ripe for a wide range of new projects, including multifamily, senior housing, industrial and office, and we will be focused on those opportunities where we can both apply our development expertise and invest capital,”
Herold said. “I am honored to work on behalf of the Lamar Hunt family, and I look forward to raising Hunt Southwest’s commercial real estate profile in Dallas and throughout the state of Texas.”
Before joining Hunt Southwest, Herold was a regional vice president for the Industrial Income Trust, a national real estate investment trust, or REIT. In that capacity, he managed property portfolios for IIT, as well as for the Industrial Property Trust, a related REIT. Prior to joining IIT, Herold held management positions with Hillwood and the Trammell Crow Company.
In addition to holding a real estate broker license, Herold has achieved the industry designation of a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in economics and political science from Northwestern University, as well as a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree with an emphasis in real estate law from Southern Methodist University.
