Cleco Power

Following the launch of its new Economic Development website last year, Cleco Power expanded its marketing efforts to specifically target new project opportunities stemming from the Inflation Reduction Act. A regulated electric public utility company, Cleco serves 24 parishes in the state of Louisiana, serving about 1 million wholesale and retail customers. Its “economic development 2.0” effort centers around an initiative that has been established to highlight and promote the distinctive assets of the central Louisiana region, particularly its exceptional feedstock and transportation resources for the clean fuels industry. Thus far, Cleco’s efforts have resulted in the attraction of more than $4 billion in new opportunities. Notably, the utility announced the establishment of the Beaver Lake Renewable Energy center in July 2023. The facility will be built on the former International Paper facility in Rapides Parish, and the project is poised to generate more than 1,200 permanent and temporary jobs, with an expected economic impact exceeding $5 billion.

Florida Power & Light
Visit www.fpl.com

The “WonderFL” talent attraction campaign by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is centered around the web destination— https://WonderFL.com/ and includes eight regional websites. This first-of-its-kind campaign to promote the state of Florida as an ideal location to live, work, and play promotes its distinct work/life balance, employment, and quality of life. The statewide site includes a cost-of-living calculator; an interactive regional map; information on housing, education, and employers; as well as information for entrepreneurs and veterans. It serves as the pathway to direct people to explore regions: North Central; Northeast; Northwest; Orlando Space Coast; South Central; Southeast; and Southwest. Each regional site includes information about communities, culture, housing, and schools. The regional sites were produced with guidance from leaders in the respective communities. Funding for the statewide and regional sites is provided by FPL. By spring 2024, nearly 275,000 unique users have visited the sites more than 410,000 times and interacted with WonderFL and its regional sites nearly 1.4 million times.
