Texas: The Lone Star State Expands

One of the Top 10 economies in the world and with no corporate income tax, Texas offers outsized opportunities for businesses to innovate and grow.

Strengthening the Semiconductor Supply Chain. As the birthplace of the integrated circuit, and home to the headquarters for Texas Instruments (TI) in Dallas continues to be a trailblazer in semiconductors. In fact, the Lone Star State has been the top exporter of semiconductors and electronic components for more than a decade. The state continues to attract major investment in this industry with recently announced multibillion-dollar investments from companies like Samsung, TI, and GlobiTech.

Driving Growth in Automotive. Texas is a magnet for automotive manufacturing. Aisin AW, Continental, Navistar, and others have announced new investments in Texas. General Motors, Peterbilt, and DeLorean Motor Company have longstanding operations in the state. Not to mention, Texas is increasingly becoming a hub for innovation in electric vehicles and autonomous technologies.

Top Talent. A large, diverse, and highly specialized manufacturing workforce, more than 900,000 strong, powers the manufacturing sector and allows employers to find qualified talent across all regions of the state. Texas is continually ranked top in the U.S. for net tech employment added and remains the top state for population growth for the last 15 years, attracting some of the brightest minds to the state.

Many of the world’s most advanced products are made in Texas, and by unleashing the power of entrepreneurs and innovators, Texas will long remain the best state for business in advanced manufacturing, technology, and beyond.

Tomball’s Business-Friendly Principles Bolster Growth

Tomball’s welcoming environment, diverse commerce, and advanced infrastructure make Tomball a desirable place for commercial and industrial investment. Shovel-ready land, business-friendly principles, such as low taxes, reasonable regulation, and business incentives, drive corporate investment. Tomball’s excellent education, rich culture, and small-town charm naturally attracts development.

In March 2022, Lovett Industrial and Clarion Partners broke ground on 240-acre Interchange 249, located on Tomball Parkway directly south of Grand Parkway. The groundbreaking followed a February announcement by Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) and Macy’s, Inc. on Macy’s plans to expand operations from its current Houston distribution center into the modern facility inside Interchange 249. The 900,000-square-foot distribution center provides substantial opportunities for growth. Interchange 249’s more than three million square feet of class A industrial and retail space positions the development as a premier business park in the Houston metropolitan area.

The Tomball Business & Technology Park, which Business Facilities has ranked as a top 10 industrial park in the nation for two consecutive years, is a 99.5-acre park nestled among tall pine trees. The Park’s environmentally attractive setting provides distribution and e-Commerce businesses quick access to Tomball’s major highways.

Area leadership has been committed to improving mobility, as evidenced by the expansion of Tomball Parkway and development of Grand Parkway. Tomball Parkway has been improved as a major thoroughfare with convenient surface road access to businesses and residences. Grand Parkway is the most recent motorway developed to carry people and product throughout the region. Connectors from Grand Parkway to Tomball Parkway are actively being completed, providing easier commutes and efficient product movement, augmenting Tomball’s industrial parks.
