Tomball, TX: Building Infrastructure, Workforce For Better Healthcare

Quality healthcare has long been a priority for Tomball, Texas. The first hospital was founded in 1948, and City Council established Tomball Hospital Authority (Authority) in 1973 to bring a modern hospital to the Tomball area. The Authority achieved its goals of modern, quality healthcare services for Tomball residents.

The Authority developed Tomball’s hospital and medical complex, which it sold to award-winning HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball. Today, HCA Tomball’s 350-bed hospital sits on a 150-acre campus in the heart of Tomball. HCA Tomball features specialty centers, such as an Orthopedics Center, Women’s Center, Heart and Vascular Center, and Texas Sports Medicine Center, as well as an Emergency Room with Level III Trauma capabilities.

HCA Tomball creates more than 1,000 direct jobs and more indirect jobs associated with the medical complex and medical facilities throughout Tomball. Of nearly 14,000 employees in Tomball, more than 10% are directly employed in healthcare.
