CBC Manufacturing Consolidating Operations In Upstate New York

CBC Manufacturing has announced it will consolidate and grow its operations in the City of Rochester, NY. The holding company will invest $4.45 million to build out the manufacturing facility at XLI Manufacturing, which is currently located on Vanguard Parkway, to accommodate for the integration of its regional assets. CBC recently purchased XLI Manufacturing, a full-service contract manufacturer. Once completed, the operations of XLI, Golf Products Wire EDM and Solar Raceway will all operate out of the Vanguard facility. This relocation is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

“CBC is pleased to partner with Empire State Development, Monroe County and the City of Rochester in order to facilitate the growth of our subsidiaries,” said Chad Carta, President of CBC Manufacturing. “By partnering with the community, we will be able to consolidate our facilities and create new jobs for the Rochester area. We continue to work closely with our community partners in a long-term effort to drive manufacturing growth.”

CBC Manufacturing owns and operates various manufacturing businesses that support a number of industries, including solar, optics, aerospace and the medical services industry.  For more than 30 years, XLI Manufacturing has provided contract manufacturing services for some of the nation’s leading equipment manufacturers, among other things, medical diagnostics, digital medical imaging and hydrogen fuel cells. Golf Products Wire EDM, currently located in Spencerport, specializes in wire edm precision machining for a range of industries. Established in 2014, Solar Raceway, which is currently located on Cairn Street in Rochester, offers wire management systems that are designed to meet the need of any commercial, residential or utility solar installation.

“CBC Manufacturing’s decision to consolidate and expand operations in Monroe County reflects the success of our strategic support for growing and revitalizing the Upstate economy, especially by adding jobs and opportunity,” said Howard Zemsky, Empire State Development (ESD) President, CEO & Commissioner.

ESD is facilitating the consolidation with $300,000 through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit program in exchange for CBC Manufacturing’s commitment to create up to 44 new jobs over the next five years. A total of 42 jobs will be retained at the consolidated facility. The total project cost for the renovation work and expansion is placed at $4.45 million. Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise also assisted with this project.

“Every job is critically important to our local workforce and economy,” said State Senator Joe Robach. “CBC Manufacturing’s decision to consolidate and grow operations in the City of Rochester is great news for the residents of Monroe County and will create and retain over 80 jobs.  I look forward to working with CBC Manufacturing and appreciate their commitment to Rochester.”

“Monroe County is proud to support CBC Manufacturing in its consolidation of operations, which will create dozens of jobs here in our community,” said Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo. “Investing in Monroe County is a no-brainer considering our wealth of human capital, skilled technical workforce and world-class quality of life. We will continue expanding our efforts to create more jobs and build stronger families for generations to come.”

The announcement complements “Finger Lakes Forward,” the region’s comprehensive blueprint to generate robust economic growth and community development. The state has already invested more than $6.1 billion in the region since 2012 to lay the groundwork for the plan – investing in key industries including photonics, agriculture‎ and food production, and advanced manufacturing. Unemployment is currently down to the lowest levels since before the Great Recession; personal and corporate income taxes are down; and businesses are choosing places like Rochester, Batavia and Canandaigua as a destination to grow and invest in.

Now, the region is accelerating Finger Lakes Forward with a $500 million state investment through the Upstate Revitalization Initiative, announced by Governor Cuomo in December 2015. The state’s $500 million investment will incentivize private business to invest well over $2.5 billion – and the region’s plan, as submitted, projects up to 8,200 new jobs.
