“This is an exciting time for Western Express,” said President and CEO Paul Wieck. “Our company is proud to be a part of the growth in Nashville.  We opened our first terminal in Nashville in 1991.  Our expansion has been through organic growth and acquisitions.  We will continue to grow our fleet and our team. Our plan for 2019 will exceed $800 million in revenue. Western Express would like to thank the State of Tennessee for its support of our organization and the transportation industry.”

“The expansion of Western Express in Nashville is another sign of how Middle Tennessee is thriving and attracting top businesses and investment,” commented Gov. Bill Lee.

With this expansion, Western Express will add new technology, business services and back office support at its headquarters in Nashville. The company will also invest in new trucks, trailers, GPS and other transportation related equipment. In addition to the 225 headquarters positions, the company will hire more than 350 driving associates each year over the next five years.

“Tennessee is home to more than 16,000 distribution and logistics establishments, and we continue to see an uptick in this industry’s momentum,” said Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Bob Rolfe. “I want to thank Western Express for continuing to grow this industry and for choosing to expand its Nashville headquarters.”

Since 2015, TNECD has supported 67 projects in Davidson County, resulting in the creation of more than 21,000 new jobs and approximately $2.1 billion in capital investment.
