Metromont Investing $8.8M In South Carolina

The concrete manufacturing company will expand its Greenville, SC operations, creating 100 new jobs.

Metromont Corporation will renovate and expand its existing Greenville County, SC operations to accommodate new concrete operations, as well as an engineering facility.. The precast concrete materials manufacturer’s $8.8 million investment is expected to create an additional 100 jobs over the next five years.

“Metromont is very excited to expand our operations in Greenville,” said Metromont Corporation Vice President and CFO Russell C. Rumley. “This offers an opportunity to provide expanded product offerings to our customers while improving our operational efficiencies. We are also very thankful to the state for being so very supportive of this transition – to that end we must say ‘Thank you’ to the citizens of South Carolina.”

Metromont engineers and manufactures precast concrete for everything from schools, office buildings and parking decks to industrial plants and stadiums. With manufacturing operations in five states, the company has completed projects at more than 50 stadiums and more than 1,000 parking decks.

“South Carolina continues to lead the way in the global manufacturing industry, and today’s announcement by Metromont Corporation is the latest example of that,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “With this additional investment, the leadership at Metromont is doubling down on its commitment to our state, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for a long time to come.”

The South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $100,000 Set Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of site improvements.

“Metromont Corporation’s decision to expand its operations in Greenville County is a boost for our local economy,” said Greenville County Councilman Ennis Fant, District 25. “Greenville’s excellent business climate and productive workforce weighed heavily in this decision. We are very excited about this announcement and what it means for this area of Greenville County.”
