President and CEO George Galloway founded Precision Military Aerodynamics in 1975. The company supplies parachutes for sporting use as well as for units of elite military Special Forces. Precision Military Aerodynamics recently moved into its new 200,000-square-foot facility in Dunlap to expand into new lines of production.

“Since 1980, we’ve had continuous operations in Dunlap and Sequatchie County,” said Galloway. “We could locate anywhere, but it’s the work ethic, attention to detail and the quality of the people and employees in Southeast Tennessee that makes all the difference. As we’re shipping our products across the world, we’re finding our customers want American-made. This is a sizable expansion for Precision Military Aerodynamics, and we’re proud to be doing so here in Dunlap.”

“Whether it is engineering the latest high-performance aircraft or designing the most advanced parachutes for elite Special Forces, Tennessee is known for its strong ties to the defense and aerospace industry,” said Gov. Bill Haslam. “Precision Military Aerodynamics is one of the state’s leaders in this thriving sector. The creation of 100 new jobs will create a positive jolt for the local economy and increase employment opportunities for Dunlap and Sequatchie residents. I’d like to thank Precision Military Aerodynamics for its continued commitment to Tennessee and bringing us another step closer to making Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”

“Some of the world’s top aerospace and defense firms operate in Tennessee. It takes a highly skilled workforce to meet their needs. And in Tennessee, we’re able to do just that, with more than 8,300 Tennesseans working in this dynamic sector,” said Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd. “[This] announcement shows that our efforts to promote business expansions and economic development in rural parts of Tennessee are bearing fruit. On behalf of Team Tennessee, I’d like to thank Precision Military Aerodynamics for its continued contribution to Tennessee as well as the creation of 100 new jobs that will serve to energize the Dunlap community and provide high quality jobs to Sequatchie residents.”

Dunlap received a $200,350 Appalachian Regional Commission grant to construct an access road and upgrade the water pumping station in the Dunlap Industrial Parks for Precision Military Aerodynamics’ facility.

“The 100 new jobs are a tremendous boost to the city of Dunlap,” said Dunlap Mayor Dwain Land. “Without the assistance of Gov. Haslam and his staff, this would not have been possible. I’d like to thank Precision Military Aerodynamics for its commitment to provide more job opportunities that will have a lasting impact on our residents.”
