B. Braun, the world’s 10th largest medical device manufacturer, will invest $100 million to establish a manufacturing facility in Daytona Beach and create 175 new jobs.
Braun Medical is a worldwide leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing innovative medical products and services to the healthcare industry. The company is committed to eliminating preventable treatment errors and enhancing patient, clinician and environmental safety. The B. Braun Group of Companies employs more than 56,000 employees in more than 60 countries across the globe. Its U.S. headquarters are located in Bethlehem, PA.
“At B. Braun, we are working each day to improve medical quality, safety and care,” said Bruce A. Heugel, Senior Vice President of B. Braun Medical. “In order to achieve this goal, we must invest in the best location for our company growth. With its low taxes and business friendly environment for manufacturers like B. Braun, Florida was the best choice for expansion. We appreciate Governor [Rick] Scott’s support and look forward to B. Braun’s future success in the Sunshine State.”
The announcement followed a meeting Gov. Scott held with B. Braun during its domestic trade mission to Pennsylvania last year.
“I’m very excited to welcome B. Braun Medical to Daytona following Governor Scott’s meeting with them in Pennsylvania,” said Bill Johnson, President and CEO of Enterprise Florida. “With their expansion, B. Braun will be creating 175 new jobs, and making a $100 million capital investment. We are working every day to make Florida the best state for business, and companies like B. Braun moving here are great examples of our success.”
