Pfizer Upgrades Facility in Portage, MI

Pfizer has decided to upgrade its sterile injectables plant in Portage, MI.

As a part of the move, the drug giant will invest about $21 million in the facility for new air handlers, heating and air conditioning systems and vial sterilization equipment.

The plant supplies various sterile injectables, liquids, semisolids and active pharmaceutical ingredients used in various medicines. According to a company spokesman, “building 41 will be closed for an eight-week period during the summer while the new equipment is installed.”
