Completion of this project will stimulate development and indirectly impact the attraction and expansion of other businesses into the 1,300-acre ‘I’ Avenue Industrial area. In addition, the project’s Team Transload facility fosters entrepreneurship by making rail accessible throughout the region to smaller businesses that will now be able to ship and receive goods with the use of a team trans-load facility.

Talbott-Kansas Community FOREVER, Megasite NEVER!
Go to www.saveourfarms-homes.com for the 'rest of the story.; Because all you are getting with this above story is half truths and outright lies. To begin with, we citizens were 'Pearl Harbored' on 1/9/13 to see on 11PM news that our homes and farms were in the 'footprint' of megasite. It is not a done deal and we are fighting tooth and nail to keep our farms and homes. So, we organized, hired a lawyer (Scott Hurley) and in writing told EDOC we were NOT interested in selling. Of the 1800 acres in 'phase one' over 1450 acres has 'certified' NOT FOR SALE at any price. We are not going to allow our Talbott-Kansas, Sager, and Spring Creek communties to be destroyed. There are over 180 EMPTY megasites across the nation already! Jefferson county currently has 145 million in debt and only 55,000 in population. We cannot afford the estimated 60 million to fund this and both the state of Tennessee and TVA have said they have NO funds to give to this project. Our county cannot afford the 30 years of tax abatement expected by a megasite industry. Why are tax dollars goinig to support HUGE industry when it's the small business owners who are the backbone of our economy???
We, the citizens of Jefferson County, Tennessee are NOT against jobs or industry. We are, however smart enough, and educated enough to KNOW what the facts, figures and TRUTH is about this megadisaster. We need to fill the vacant business parks that are already in our county and NOT spend over half a billion dollars on a horrible gamble.
