Welcome to Maricopa, Arizona

The City of Maricopa’s Economic Development Department is building the new 21st Century American City. Maricopa’s economic development strategy is centered on building a sustainable city – one that features an economy characterized by diversity, competitiveness and success in the global economy.

If you ever have wanted to help create a dynamic new community, you need look no further than the City of Maricopa. In 2000, Maricopa was home to 1,400 proud residents; today, it has grown to over 43,000 within City limits and 61,000 total in the immediate trade area. Incorporated in 2004, City leaders have worked vigorously to ensure the highest quality of municipal services for its residents.

Maricopa’s proximity to the Greater Phoenix metropolis, coupled with a unique, family-oriented ambiance, draws new residents each month. With more than 48 percent holding a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 88% with some post-high school education, these residents both value the small-town feel and eagerly welcome quality employment, shopping, entertainment and other amenities.

New home construction is only a part of Maricopa’s promise and potential. Already, Maricopa is fast becoming a “clean and green” industry hub as home to Pinal Energy, the state’s first ethanol plant, and Yulex, a producer of organic hypo-allergenic latex from desert crops.

Maricopa also offers a large supply of developable commercial and industrial property with highway access. The City is eager to assist you with exploring sites in the area and identifying the tools to best benefit your project, including Industrial Development Authority bonds, participation in our Fast Track Program, or locating in our future Redevelopment District with tax incentive opportunities.
