Hollingsworth Logistics Corp. has been recruited to Berkeley County, WV and will lease more than 300,000 square feet in the Shockey Commerce Center.
Stephen Christian, executive director of the Berkeley County Development Authority, announced that the company will bring 75 new jobs to the area with the possibility of growth to 100 during peak periods. Hiring will start immediately.
Hollingsworth Logistics Corp. has been awarded a contract from the federal government to provide U.S. Postal Service support services for ongoing equipment management, maintenance, storage and redeployment, “The company looked at many location options along the Interstate 81 corridor, and after several months of analysis and negotiations, decided Martinsburg was the best solution for their success,” Christian said.
“Our company found everything we needed and more. After an extensive search, we concluded Berkeley County was the clear choice for this new facility, said Chris McIntosh, Hollingsworth project manager and human resources director in a news release. “We are looking forward to a successful and rewarding operation here. The support we have received from the folks at Shockey, the Development Authority and the team at WorkForce West Virginia made our decision easy.”
According to Christian, starting pay for equipment processors will be around $12 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package. There will be higher pay for more advanced positions and management.
Shockey Properties manager Wade Johnson sees a bright future for Berkeley. “This is very rewarding and very much a new sign of the times, especially since it shows how hard everyone works together as a team in Berkeley County. He said, “…activity breeds activity, and this area has proved its worthiness. More companies will want to come here.”
